How to count down to a date
Leave the From field on today and pick your target date in the second field. The result shows straight away: the number of days until that date, then the same gap in weeks, months, years and business days.
Want to count down from a different starting point, like the day your leave starts? Change the From date too. The calculator then measures the days between the two, and you can switch to the Between tab for the full two-date view.
Every result has its own link. Press “Copy link” and anyone who opens it sees the same dates, with the count worked out again on their own device. That makes it easy to share a wedding or holiday countdown with family.
A quick example: if today is Monday, October 19, 2026 and your trip starts on Friday, December 18, 2026, the calculator shows 60 days. That is 8 weeks and 4 days, or 44 business days if you need to count the working days you have left before you go.

Days, weeks or months: which countdown helps most?
Days are precise and great for the last stretch. Weeks are better for planning, because life runs on weekly rhythms: weekends, paychecks, school weeks. Months help for big events far away, like a wedding next year.

Counting down vs counting since
A countdown looks forward. Its mirror image is a days-since count, which looks back at a date that has passed. Same math, opposite direction. If you have just reached your big day, switch the tab to “Days Since” and keep counting: your day since count becomes a record of how long it has been.

How do I count the days until a date?
Pick the target date in the calculator above. It counts from today and shows the days left, plus weeks, months and business days.
Does the countdown include today?
No. It counts the days between today and the target date, so tomorrow is 1 day away. Tick “Include end date” if you want both today and the target day counted.
How many weeks until a date?
Divide the days by 7. The weeks tile shows full weeks and leftover days, for example “9 + 4”.
Can I count down to a date next year?
Yes. Pick any future date, even years ahead. Leap days in between are counted automatically.
Will the countdown update tomorrow?
Yes. It uses today’s date on your device each time the page loads, so it goes down by one every midnight.
How do I share my countdown?
Press “Copy link”. The link keeps your dates, so whoever opens it sees the same countdown.
