Shipping cutoffs change every year and differ by carrier and country, so check your carrier’s holiday dates in early December rather than relying on last year. A safe habit is to send anything going overseas at least two weeks out, and anything domestic a week before the carrier’s published last day.

Christmas moves forward one weekday each year, or two after a leap day. That decides whether you get a long weekend.

2028 jumps from Saturday straight to Monday because February 29, 2028 pushes every later date forward an extra day.
Days since Christmas: counting the other way

Sleeps are the nights between now and Christmas morning, which is the same as the days-until number. On Christmas Eve there is 1 sleep left.
How many weeks until Christmas?
Divide the days by 7. The counter above shows the full weeks, and the calculator adds the leftover days next to them.
What day is 100 days before Christmas?
September 16. It is the same every year because there is no leap day between September and December. 50 days before is November 5 and 30 days before is November 25.
How many days are there between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
It changes each year because Thanksgiving moves. In 2026, Thanksgiving is on November 26, which leaves 29 days until Christmas. In 2028 Thanksgiving is on November 23, leaving 32 days.
When does the Christmas countdown reset?
At midnight at the start of December 26 in your own time zone. From then on it counts down to the next December 25.
Does the countdown include Christmas Day?
No. It counts the days between today and Christmas, so on December 24 it reads 1. Tick “Include end date” if you want both today and Christmas Day counted.
